Here’s what’s happening - in 2021, two operators ( N5HA, Kenneth Bailey & W9AV, Clint Sprott ) managed to work at least 1 park every UTC day. My goal for 2022 is to do the same, and to try and write a short post about the day’s first contact. If you want to play along, feel free - I’ll be sharing updates about it during the monthly POTA updates that I prepare for the various ham radio media outlets.
now that you’re in the know about the Baily-Sprott Challenge, here’s the scoop for today:
Bailey-Sprott Challenge Update
Day 16 of the year happened to coincide with the second day of POTA’s 2022 Winter Support Your Parks event. This means that there were a TON of stations on the air so snagging one for a contact was pretty easy. The first one for day 16 just happend to be Justin, K4HXM while activating K-1319
Also, while it wasn’t the first contact of the day, one of the other contacts was probably the most exciting for me anyway - our second oldest, who just turned 6 last week, made his first ever QSO today as well, with John, AF8E. John did great working with my little one - thanks John!
