Here’s what’s happening - in 2021, two operators ( N5HA, Kenneth Bailey & W9AV, Clint Sprott ) managed to work at least 1 park every UTC day. My goal for 2022 is to do the same, and to try and write a short post about the day’s first contact. If you want to play along, feel free - I’ll be sharing updates about it during the monthly POTA updates that I prepare for the various ham radio media outlets.
now that you’re in the know about the Baily-Sprott Challenge, here’s the scoop for today:
Bailey-Sprott Challenge Update
Not quite a month in, and I’m already forgetting when I sit down if the person I made my first QSO of the day with is a repeat or not :-) The first contact for me for day 26 was Roy, W3BAY who was activating K-1923. I’ve contacted Roy several times already this year, but as it turns out, this is the first time that he was the first of the day. I suspect that he is in the crowd of folx that exascapes the mid-atlantic winter by heading to Florida, based on his camping and fishing pictures on his POTA and QRZ profile pages. Can’t say I blame him :-)
